Finally got to the range this morning with the Colt Lightweight Government. I think I've found my new primary carry, at least when clothing permits.

This gun is a dream to shoot, in spite of the lighter weight the recoil is exceptionally manageable and the accuracy is great.
The only thing I've down to the gun is to clean and lube. As it is intended to be a carry I won't be tuning the trigger, it's at 51/2 lbs which is fine for me in a carry gun.

The first mag at about 12 yards:

This was FMJ. Shot about 75 rounds and about 20 rounds of HP this trip without a single issue. Will be taking it back next week but really don't expect any issues. The accuracy was consistent. Didn't do anything much past 15 yds. Might try a little farther out next week.

Actually I'm thinking of trading in both my Springers and my first born for another one.

Here are the pics:

But soon to have grips made from these blanks by Zane:

I'll post new pics when I get them.

Probably not, just thinking out loud, for now at least but you never know. If I do I'll post them here first.

Nice LW Gov't. Model, Carson!

Now I finally know someone besides me that has one (and I bought mine twice).

Thanks Rick, I'm actually amazed at how easily it carries in the Panther. Loaded it weighs about the same as my para commander. When I first saw the holster I thought Jim had messed up because it was so slim. Should have know better, it was a perfect fit.
