Hi Everyone,

I would like to give you all, my review on the Dawson Precision 1911 Extractor removal tool.

Those of us that have 9mm 1911 s with internal extractor know how difficult they can be to remove. I bought the tool after I mucked up my original extractor (no it's not MIM) trying to remove it. I ended up sending the gun back to Yonkers and they replaced the bad extractor with a new one.

All you need to do (after removing slide, firing pin stop....) is push the tool with the matching caliber side into the breach face. This will spring the extractor hook to a position that allows the extractor to slip past the extractor hole.

Note: the tool will help you remove most all 1911 calibers. ie., 9mm, 38 super and 40 S&W. The other side of the tool is for 45 ACP. I never had a problem with removing the extractors of 45 ACP, but it's there if you need it.

To sum it up. I would highly recommend this tool.

Here is a picture. Stupid BB didn't focuse... Oh well, this tis the best one I could take.
