Well it was a nice day today here in the mountains of Somerset County so I had to get my butt out to the range. It ended up being a great trip as I had the range all to myself and I ended up putting 200 rounds of 200gr SWC thru the brand new CCO.

All 200 rounds were put thru the factory checkmate magazines without a single problem. Prior to these 200 rounds I racked the slide about 100 times just for the heck of it, broke it down, wiped it down quick, and lubed generously. Only problem that I experienced this afternoon is that my CCO is shooting 2.5" high at 10 yards. I will be contacting Keith at DW to see about getting a taller front sight to get her aiming right and I should be good to go. Other than this small problem its a shooter!

I love hearing good stories of the cco. When was it made. Let us know how the sight issue goes. I'm hoping mine is dead on and not tlhqve to hassle with it.

Nice grouping.

I travel to York quite a bit and the weather there has be really cold and rainy but it looks like you had a pretty good day to do some shooting.

Great shooting. One thing, you want a lower rear sight or, a Taller Front-sight to lower Point of Impact. either one will push the muzzle down so it will shoot lower.

nice shooting and pretty cool range set up.Yeah the PA game commission did a good job at building the new range last year. In addition to the 10/25 yd pistol range there is a 2-lane 50 yd rifle range in addition to a 6-lane 100 yd rifle range. I really enjoy shooting outside!

I got an email from Keith at DW and he told me that he would install a taller front sight if I send the slide to him. I will get it boxed up and shipped this week. However, I am kind of dissapointed that I have to ship on my own dime........but hey, what's $7 right?

Well at an insured cost of $11, I sent my CCO slide into DW to have a taller front sight installed. Hopefully they will get it replaced and back to me ASAP.

Maybe I'm being a bit picky but I feel that I shouldn't of have had to pay to ship something that DW screwed up at the factory. I'm not sure how this even happens because my CBOB and Heritage were both spot on right out of the case.

Titan - Did you send the Barrel and bushing with it? My guess would be that they are Laser bore sighting them at production.

No Keith told me just to send the slide so that is what I did. If they bore sighted mine at the factory a blind man installed my front sight post......lol

I've seen some cases of the same problem so I imagine that he already knows the post height needed. These are production pistols and I would think that they would all need the same height sights.

$7.00 is alot less than the cost of the sight friend!

Well for $1300 I expected the sights to be right out of the box.

Well I got the following email response from Keith on the front site replacement on my CCO slide: "I get to things as fast as I can. It should be on it's way back to you."

I just hope that it shows up in the perfect shape that I sent it to him in with a taller front site so it shoots POA. I only got to put 200 rounds thru her and I hope I get it back in time to hit the range on Friday after work.

Well I got my slide back today and got it all back together and ready to rock. If the weather is decent tomorrow I will be out to run another 200 rounds thru it. However I did notice when I was putting it back together that there was a bit of peening on the frame where the guide rod is contacting the frame. The aluminum frame in this area is "turned up" the slightest bit at the edge. See the pics below.

Should this be an item for concern or will it flatten itself out as I continue to break it in? I was thinking that after another several hundred rounds that if the metal isn't flattened out that I'd break the dremel and sanding wheel out and smooth it out.

How was the sight adjustment from Keith? I had to send my Guardian slide in to him too as it was shooting 4" high at 7 yards and who knows where at 25 yards! I hope it comes home soon - maybe another week. Like you, I would think that a production gun this expensive would be good-to-go right out of the box.

Keith's front site replacement was good and I'm happy with how it shoots now. I confirmed with 200 rounds last friday.

I went out on last thursday and put another 200 rounds of 200gr SWC thru the pipe. Had a couple of FTF during the last 50 rounds due to the ramp on the barrel being filthy from the previous 150 rounds. I find this a little weird since I can run my fusion scout dirtier and she still feeds all day long (it also has a ramped barrel). But not worried as it feeds HSTs even when dirty.

I'm really liking this CCO!

I like the sights where they are. May not score manpoints on a target but for carry it looks perfect.IMHO

Yes thanks for posting.
That seamed like a pretty decent turn around time.

Nice report. Glad you like her. Mine shoots a little high very consistantly and tight! So I have to agree with Scott.

Congrats on a great pistola!
