Tony, your postings regarding the new Glock 43 itched my scratch :). The weight and size of the Spec Ops 9 are becoming concealed carry problems as warmer weather is arriving. Yesterday I strapped on my little holster and my SA XDs. I had forgotten how easily it carries. I also had forgotten how awkward it feels in my hand even with the extended mag or the pinky extension thingy. I still remember the forever trigger pull of the striker fired little rascal. Your 43 with the much more substantial pinky support magazine, rounder frame and with the trigger work referenced by our favorite Glock armorer sounds as it might be the warm weather carry answer. Please give us a range report. Thanks. Dennis

Nice Tony, I like it can't wait for dirty pics and a range report.

interesting... the 43 has the grip signature of the Gen 2 G19. No finger grips...etc....

There seems to be a lot of plastic gun fever around here lately. :D

So I managed to sneak in some range time today with it.
At 7 yards.
First I shot two magazines with 115 grain FMJ, utilizing the magazine without the pinkie extension first. Those were the ones that are low and sightly left.
I then shot two more magazines with our duty ammo which is 124 Hydra-shok +P+. Both grains were very manageable with the +P+ being a little snappier. But those grouping became tighter.
It was still more comfortable and manageable. Much more noticeably manageable than a .40 G27.
The trigger is standard. The pull was consistent and felt just like my 19. Unlike the 42 (.380) that was a lot heavier and grittier.
No FTF or FTE. Everything worked as it was supposed to.
Pros
Comfortable in an IWB holster.
Easily concealable.
Easily manageable even with +P+.
It's a Glock
Cons
It's a Glock (for you Glock haters). :D

My understanding, from reading and such, that all modern handguns can handle it. There is no standard rating. It may put a little more wear and tear, but nothing significant and nothing as far as safety is concerned.

Glocks are rated for +P...Generally +P+ is not light years more snappy than +P....... I would shoot +P+ in SD loads.....

I was able to shoot it this Sunday.. the NY pull for me at first, but a nice choice for a small (really small) carry.

I might pick one up Wednesday...torn between it and a G26 for Summer carry. I never had a Summer carry gun, always carried full size, but practicing baseball with my sons now calls for a lighter carry pistol to run around with.
