Ok so my LGS had one in display. not for sale yet but display trying to create buzz. I fondled it and it was pretty awesome!!! I want one. They said it would be $1299 though...

It was really nice.

$1299 is not bad if it’s as good as first reports say it is.

Aw, hell. That wasn’t on my list of purchases I wanted to make in 2020.

So now I have a New Year's resolution. Get a Python! :D

And then, I can FINALLY stop kicking myself over not buying the last NIB Python in town back in 1978 when I had the chance. I went cheap and got a Security Six instead. Sold it within months.

Lonestar grips.

I agree. $1299 is not bad if it's as good as it seems to be! Hell, even $1499 is not "Excessive" IMHO. Modern CNC Machining does have some advantages! :)

Phil, did it have a nice action?
I not only want one, I'll have one! IF I can find one! This may just be Colt going all out to save itself, and that may benefit us. We know they are capable of building some fine wheel guns! :D

Since it's not going to be a concealed carry gun, I want a 6".

I'll probably wear it deer and hog hunting and use it at close range if the opportunity arises. Right now I have a Super Blackhawk Hunter for that. Hell I'd trade the SBH for the Python in a hearbeat!

Caleb

Yep.... 6” or even an 8” would be my choice!

I have handled old school versions and this felt really good like them. Trigger was nice, crisp, maybe a little heavy but you know that can be helped. I was really liking it. I didn’t get to mess with it much but I thought it was very well done.

Yeh, 6" would be my choice as well and I'd bet that'd be the one that sells the most too.

I’d hold off for the Royal Blue version (if they make one).

Really? I don't see a way to Pre-Order. Got a link? I see where you can get a notification when in stock is all.

You are correct, my mistake. The “Reserve” order is for the new Ruger 57 pistol. Not the Colt. Bummer

There's some available here, overpriced though:rolleyes: $500.00 over Retail, but He HAS some. I think I'll patiently wait till there are more around! $1995.00 + $50.00 shipping.

My thoughts exactly, there's a price to be paid to be the first one in the neighborhood to have one.

I don't think it's that serious. The pawl is probably hanging up due to tight tolerances. Simple fix...

At any rate, I wouldn't carry this for self defense anyhow, just for hunting and plinking. If someone were to have to depend on it for self defense, then that is cause for worry.

Agreed! Rule #1. Don't Rush to buy a New Release Firearm! :D
Wait a little bit. I think Colt will get that likely Minor Issue Resolved.
Maybe a Recall? Depends on how many are affected.
It would be Terrible for business if they didn't!
I STILL Want One!
