THIS IS NOT A KARMA all you wise akers!!! Anyways we have our SDHP annual meeting and I am on the prize commitee this year. OK I am in charge of it. The grand prize will be a .22 rifle (this is the first year that the command staff ok'd a gun give away), I have a budget of 200-250 bucks...any suggestions? A ruger 10/22? Maybe a nice CZ if I can get one for that price??

Ruger 10/22 all weather synthetic and SS. Great rifle for their children, and their children's children. I paid $229 this past Christmas for the one in my safe (wife won't let me give it to my nephew until he turns 10)
My 2 cents.

The CZ is sweet but I don't think you can get one for that price, I have a 452 Varmint and love it. Hard to go wrong with the 10/22, everyone needs at least one of those.

Another vote for the 10/22.

Perfect prize rifle, because there's such a huge aftermarket for them. You could go in one of any of a myriad of directions customizing it, so it would suit just about anyone.

I like accurate rifles..I had one 10/22 and it was not but that was only one example.. I'm a 22 snob of sorts with a collection on win 52s 75s etc. I would want any good bolt 22 over the 10/22 ..

10/22 lovers are:confused:or:rolleyes:or:eek:or even:mad: and thats OK

They are sharp, but in these parts they are $300+....

just spent a few days researching my .22 rifle purchase. i went with a Savage Arms Mark II FV. Bud's Gun Shop has them for $179 right now. Heavy barrel, synthetic stock, accutrigger, and from my online research, more accurate than the 10/22 out of the box. note that the FV doesn't have any sights, but other Savage Mark II variants that have sights may be more suitable as a prize?

I'd go with the 10/22. Mike

Everyone likes the Ruger 10/22, but IMHO the Savage 22 LR, which I own one is accurate less the .50" MOA at 100 yards, and MSRP is $484........

Here is mine:

I bet either Ruger or Savage will give you a LE Discount.................

I'd say +1 on the Henry.... but man.... they are just too pretty to shoot. nah... I'll stick with the 20/44 . That would be TWO 10/22's
