I wouldn't hijack Ron's thread.... so I have to start my own. Great minds DO think alike. I picked up my new RIA 9mm Tactical today also. Here's a picture, but without the cool Dave Wait's karma grips that are on Ron's!

Gee, that looks just like mine before the grip change. Nice guns
Very nice, Michael!
I'm seriously going to have to see if I can send mine in to have the slide re-engraved. I like the logo and markings, and they are barely visible on my compact.
We need have a group get together: Cocked, Locked and Ready to ROCK!
:D
ETA: I wish they'd let me use their logo for a couple of holsters...

I'd heard that about Rocks - the gunky packing grease part - but mine was dry as a bone. We need to get you some slipstream to lube it up!!

The pics with Dave's grips on it would be on RON'S thread. he won them from Dave's Karma a while back. I'm gonna have to slum for awhile until some two tour Corpsman decides to give up a set of his (lol... hint hint!)

@ Grouse... NOPE! Still got the little Springer. I'm letting a friend have my FNP-9 though.... It's been a safe queen for awhile, and I'll still get to shoot it regularly. We shoot together often.

Hi all, thought I would add to the thread just one more time. If you look at the plain old sneakers that came with the Rock... you would say "the kid's wearing Ked's". Not anymore! Courtesy of Clyde, Rocky's got a new pair of shoes! In fact.... Clyde sent me TWO new pairs of shoes. The one's that Rocky's wearing are a set of dsparkie's. very comfortable.... sorta, but not quite biting when you grab hold of them. They aren't going anywhere... Good solid grip. The ones below are the Sunday-Go-To-Meeting shoes. Understated, very plain Cocobolo grips that cry out "Touch Me. Go ahead. Try it."... lol.... MANY MANY thanks to Clyde for sending these out to me.

Nice greips Fadda but give that poor old Rock some oil. :D
Rock's really like a lot of oil, let is sit in a bath of oil for a couple of hours, say in a bag and leave it in the sun for a while. You will like the results.

I originally complained that I put 750 rounds through my new Rock and it didn't even hiccup. I was disappointed that I wasn't getting the full "1911 experience" of FTF/FTEs..... well... here's an update.
Update: Another 1.5 months have gone by and I STILL am experiencing a No FTF/FTE problem. That's right. I'm being cheated out of my right to experience jams and misfires. And its all because I bought what "that guy" at the range called a "Junk Gun."
I've contacted Martin at RIA/Armscor to complain and he says "it's your problem" and that it's just something that I'm going to have to live with. It seems the new machinery installed at Armscor/RIA has dramatically dropped the incidence of Failure to fire.
Does anyone know of a 1911 that I can buy that will give me the "full experience" of 1911 ownership.... including the inability to feed flat nose and hollowpoint with any reliability?
Maybe its time to bring out the dremel.....
Help me!
