Why thanks you, thank you very muuuuchhh....LOL.

My/our good friend Dale (dsparkie) made the grips and I got the screws from Brownells after searching the ends of the earth locally...they ain't cheap either! But I figured they would make the oak and the casing enlay's look good, so I bought them!

That's good shooting Ellison, I've never questioned the accuracy of Kimbers or their reliability, the five I had were pretty damn good guns. I sold all mine and switched to DW's only because I thought they were better. You've done a very good job on your Kimber, you've every right to to be proud of it:) Mike

Dave, since you have these Air Force grips you probably already know Fusion makes a USAF (new style logo) recoil spring plug, but here is a link just in case.

Thanks skosh. It's just roughed in, needs to be polished to the file marks out, and the msh re blued, and a set of grips made to match the bob. Was using it for EDC till I got a Guardian. Now I need to clean it up more before I put it back in the carry rotation.

Uh, the Valkyrie is not a compact, it has a commander slide which is 4", compacts are usually 3", am I right?

Plenty of other manufacturer's made compacts long before DW, who didn't start doing it until the ECO, what 2 years ago?

The ECO has a 3 1/2 inch barrel. Compact!
The Valkyrie DOES have a Commander length slide. Correct!

No; compacts generally have 4-41/4" slides;'subcompacts have three inch slides.

Usually, a compact is a Commander length slide on an Officer's size grip frame.

I am last but I am proud. I have done some work on this unfired, idiot scratched beauty and it is a really nice piece. Oe day I will shoot the crap out of it, get over the scratch and either sell or put is in the fun rotation. Right now it has permanent safe duty to remind me to pay attention. There is value in that. :)

Right back at ya. Caleb.goodluck with my Mimbers over the years with none of the chronicled brass in the face, etc. The fit and finish are not what I expect with high dollar guns but it is especially good for the $s. The mechanical function is there, triggers are better than some but not like my Wilson's but again they are good and I think if I knew what I was doing they would be easy to fix. I haven't had problems but the customer service folks on the phone are friendly and knowledgeable. What is wrong with that?

The one I posted above was my one and only mimber. They are good for the money but, there are better options out there for the same coin (STI, SA, Colt, RIA, just to name a few.). I had no issues with the Target Stainless I had (pictured above) and should of never foolishly traded it. The fit was looser than one of pig's street walkers but, it ran like a top. The trigger was smooth as butter and very positive. If I could turn back time, I would of not traded it. Oh well, live and learn.
