Well Howdy y'all
Today the Okeechobee Marshals had their second saturday shoot. Our posse had 13 members, a small group but on a nice hot day, only the real cowboys come out to shoot.
We are all getting ready for the State Championship and trying different guns and loads.
So I will keep this note short and get to some Pic;s and a few short video's.
We also have on the 20th of October "The Black Powder Buffalo Brady Memorial shoot".
Most will be shooting Black Powder, and if you want to shoot your normal Cowboy gins, you can with 777 powder (just have to remember to clean up after the match) or your regular loads (but will not count towards awards.
If I am in town, I will shoot and do the photos of the match. Could be fun.
We had today, one shooter practicing with Black Powder and you can see his video below.

That looks like a blast, shooting and dress up too. Why don't any of them bend over to pick up the brass? Are these events timed?

Yep , just like any other event you run against the clock.
We try not to bend over because when you drop your guns it is not cool. Also it is hard to stand up again.
The big matches are list brass matches. So the only brass you get to keep us out of your side arms.

Good to bring a pretty girl with you to pick up your brass! The reason I ask about the clock, is there does not seem to be the urgency you see at other matches. That is to someone who has never shot it.

OK, Than you have to posse up and get out and try it.
Remember that you are not only on the CLOCK, but you are shooting 4 guns..2 Side arms SIngle Acton only, 1 rifle Lever action, and a shot gun (from the day or a modern remake)

And now for the fun part, there is a Certain procedure and story that goes with each stage and if you do not perform exactly to the procedure, there is a 10 sec. penalty.
