FYI, if you are on the Dan Wesson section of 1911forums.com I posted this same thread. Just showing of my new CCO. I'm so proud of my new purchase :D

Alright guys, first it's Memorial day so I want to thank all of you and others who have served or are serving our country. You all make it possible for us to have the freedoms that we have in this great country.

OK, I finally just went ahead and did it. I went down last night right before my local gun shop closed and purchased a Brand spanking new Dan Wesson CCO and I am here to tell you what a damn nice pistol it is, the fit and finish on this CCO is just perfect. I did not get a chance to shoot it yet but I am going today to blow through some rounds. If it's like my other 2 DW's I'm going to be a really happy man.
So this makes it 3 Dan Wessons that I have now purchased in the past few months (they are very addicting). But I now have as you can see in my signature the 3 DW's that I am totally happy with and can stop buying guns for a little while, well I will try at least  . I don't have anymore money :bawling: but I have some bad a$$ pistols and I believe instead of going all out and purchasing one Wilson Combat for 3 to 4 thousand for one pistol I now have three Dan Wessons for somewhere in that price range. IMO the quality is matched.

Ok enough rambling here are some pix of my spanking new DW CCO.

Thanks for taking a look. I do think the grips that came on the CCO are beautiful but on a pistol that I am going to conceal and carry I wish it came with some slims. I am not sure but if anyone who reads this can you tell me if DW makes these same grips in slim line? I will probably change them out for some Sarge custom's or some slim line VZ grips. I also need to get a nice IWB holster for this now I will probably Get a Lasco Leather COTEP IWB holster

( damn I need to cut my finger nails :biglaugh: )
Thanks guys, range report coming soon.

You sir have excellent taste. I too have a nice collection of Dan Wessons (CBOB, Heritage, CCO) with the CCO being purchased a couple months ago. The 2010 CCO is a better quality piece than my 08 CBOB and 09 Heritage and they are both excellent. It's good to be enlightened!

Congratulations on picking up a nice CCO.

I may have handled it last week, and was tempted to bring it home.

Yeah, the CCO's are just fantastic, mine is a 2010 and I just love it:) To me, at the range it's a toss-up between it and my 09 Valor at 25 yards, I think it depends on which one I've shot the most lately. You've bought a Great pistol, have fun with it. Mike

Thank you I think the same about it as you do yours

It's just a excellent setup and I have to say I shot this gun just as good or better than my 5" Heritage and VBOB, there all close though. I need to take all three of mine out together and shoot them all the same day and compare. I haven't done that yet. Mainly cause I like to clean my guns after ever range trip so cleaning 3 or 4 -1911's at once is a little much sometimes unless you just do a quick wipe down, bore snake and relube. Which I might do sometimes

Anyways thanks, love the Dan Wessons :D

I know this isn't the blade forum but since this thread was started I just received my M1911 compact in the mail today.

I have to say the guy who makes these knives is very talented and even the box the knife and extras came in is very nice with his logo and all. It just shows quality of work IMO.

Very nice knife I do want to get some slim line grips for it but anyways here are the grips and knife I got. Basically matches my VBOB (kind of).

Now with my grips off of my new CCO, I wish I could keep them on there but I have to wait until I get some custom Slim grips for my CCO then they might go back on.

Close up of the 1911 to 2011 Stamp, I forgot to ask if he is only doing this for this year.

Excellent knife and idea. I will probably get one of his fixed blades next that take the normal size 1911 grips. Plus I got mine in 440C stainless but my next will be his nicer CMP S30V steel.

I know I haven't taken pics next to one of my Dan Wesson's yet but there coming

Thanks,

Not going to ramble on much today, all I am reall going to say is WOW! This pistol is all on the money and not one malfunction. No BS.

First 8 rounds out of the CCO at about 9 yards, sorry blurry pic -it was breezy in there.
http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s275/allrockabilly/DW%20gun%20pix/16840c1f.jpg

Same target as above but put 3 more magazines through it. So this is the first 29 rounds out of my new CCO at about 9 yards.
http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s275/allrockabilly/DW%20gun%20pix/c60cdc65.jpg

After those first rounds you see above I started shooting at different distances and it just got better and better. Even when I went all the way out to 25 yards I was able to keep them all on target and well centered, I was very impressed :rock:

I was by myself shooting at the range but I am going to try and have someone come and take some pics and videos of me shooting all of my Dan Wesson's. I want to do a comparison video between the DW Heritage, VBOB and the CCO just for fun.
Once I can talk a buddy into going to the range and do some shooting with me and also help me shoot some video and take pics I will start a new thread and post my fun filled findings. I think they are all on the money, I think my big difference in outcome comes down to what sights I have on each pistol. I have always been a 3 dot sight guy - like the ones that are on the CCO those sights are just perfect IMO ( well at least for me, everyone has there own preference ).

Anyway, blah, blah I love this new gun. CCO is awesome!

Question - I know I can always contact Keith but does anyone know (or have you done it) if the dovetail cut for the rear sight on the VBOB (which has the Heinie ledge sight on the rear) and placement would allow me to install Novak style rear sight just like what's on the CCO? I'm sure I can and I know I can figure it out myself but just figured I would ask.

New M1911 knife next to CCO...
http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s275/allrockabilly/DW%20gun%20pix/989e110d.jpg
Now if only I could find an extra set of the Officers / compact sized DW grips just like the ones that are on my CCO (The stock ones that come on the CCO) to put on my new M1911 knife this would be the perfect match :)

Thank you all for the replies,
-Ryan

Not the right thread but what the hell...
Well I might as well put up the pic of the M1911 folder knife that pretty much matches my VBOB, I bought it to kinda match I guess. =
