I bought a new American Classic Commander a while back to use as a platform for customization for a gunsmith friend. I had problems right out of the box and had to send it in for warranty work, but after it got back I sent it off to be customized and tuned. Along with mechanical upgrades, I had all the rollmarks removed and the whole gun reblued and high polished. I'm very happy with the results and it got a lot of looks while on display at the last gum show.

Thanks fellas. I'm kind of partial to it myself. I actually just sent the barrel off to have the hood jeweled, so I will post some new pictures when it comes back.

I cant wait to see a pic of the barrel when you get it back. The pistol really looks nice. It sure is a "dinner" gun for sure. But with the right holster I'd wear her everyday! Thanks for posting her!

That is a beautiful machine, I love the finish and the naked rollmarkless (If that's a word) look to it and the grips are beautiful, nice work!

It's ironic that I've gotten new responses on this thread in the last couple days. It had been idle for several months. The irony is that I sold that pistol at a gun show this past weekend. It was a good gun, but I just had too many bobtail commanders. I need more full size guns.

from 8-27 2011 yeah that was one hell of a necromantic spell to drag this back from the dead.
