First trip to the range for my new Nightmare Carry. The weather was 44 degrees and very windy. All Rounds were fired at 15 yards, and shot POA/POI. 4 magazines were used, 2 factory and 2 new Checkmates. The magazines have the HYBRID feed lips. I did not function check with magazines with WADCUTTER fee lips.

This handgun performed very well, with no Failures to Feed, Fire, Extract on the following ammo:
24 rounds WWB 230gr FMJ
35 rounds ARMSCOR 230gr FMJ
100 rounds ESTATE 230gr FMJ
10 rounds FEDERAL HYDRASHOK 230gr JHP
10 rounds H.P.R. 230gr JHP

I had issues with RWS 230gr JHP. I loaded 4 mags with it, and tried to slingshot the first round into the chamber...it did not go into battery. I could not pull the slide back, nor force it into battery with a palm strike to the back of the slide. I had to put a rag on the table and shove the frame and pull on the slide. Disassembled and boresnaked the bore. Try again, same thing. Anyway, i managed to get 3 rounds fired. Then fired the second box of EXTATE with no issues. I only had the one .45 at the range, but another shooter had an S&W M&P .45, he was able to chamber 1 without issue. When I got home, I dropped 10 rounds into another barrel with no issues, but if you look at the pictures below, the Nightmare barrel will NOT take all of the RWS, 2nd picture shows one that dropped in. 3rd picture shows 3 different RWS rounds, all look the same, but one chambers.

Let me guess: The one on the left chambers.

Damn it, I put 'em back in the box. But the one that did not chamber showed the rim plus some more sticking out past the barrel hood, while one completely chambered.

Ya got me  Ammo looks fine, but looks can be deceiving.

For what it's worth, my Kimber will eat anything I feed it, while the Cbob is a little bit more finicky.

To get concise results, you'll need to take a few rounds of each manufacturer and measure the case lengths and OAL for seating depth. Dave Waits should be along shortly to tell you what you really need to do as I just pulled that suggestion out of rectal defilade.

The killer being that it chambers in my other 1911s. And all the other stuff I put in the Nightmare was fine.

Well there's your answer,, don't use it in the Nightmare...funny funny

Just messing with ya!

For my next trick I am going to take all 197 remaining RWS rounds, remove the barrel from the Nightmare and see how many of 'em "fit". Those will go in a box for the range for that gun...the rest will get shot in the other 1911s. Round count to follow.
