My brother came up to visit from Mayport Naval Station this weekend and we decided to go shooting at a local indoor range. We took a Colt Commander, Wilson CQB, Ruger SR1911, Dan Wesson Panther, and Ruger LC9. My brother also had a crazy itch to shot "something big" (his words), so we used the rental Desert Eagle .44 mag.

It was enjoyable, especially since this is the first time I shot the Panther since getting it refinished and getting a trigger job done, not to mention just getting to shoot with my Bubba. That Panther now has a better trigger than the Wilson, which is quite a feat.

This is also the first trial of the SR1911. It performed quite well and seems to be a great pistol in the price range. The trigger could use some work, but in all fairness, had I not had the Panther and CQB it probably would've seemed much better.

So, here's the damage:

No plans to trade any right now NV. But, the Ruger would be the first to go just because it is the least valuable.

Scott, what's a ransom rest?:D To be honest, that 7 round shot group with the CQB is probably the best grouping of my life.

Dang Larry, you're shooting that Wilson "lights out"! That's a heck of a group with the LC9 too. Only 6' closer than the SR1911 but just as good of a group with a considerably shorter barrel and smaller overall pistol. Well done.
