I finally got a little time to hit the range and shoot her. 50 rounds that is. Like I said-not a lot of time lol. And I really hated that as I wanted more time for our first time together. At any rate, what can I say? She was a smashing success! Just an absolute beautiful pistol that functioned flawlessly and drove tacs. cant ask for much more imo. I did have to get a little used to the DW straight 8 sights. I like them too. At any rate heres a couple target pics. The first pic is the very first 8 rounds I put through her. You can tell I was trying to get the feel of the sights. The second pic is the next 8 round mag I put through her. Both were shot at 21 feet.

While perusing in the shop itself I noticed they had an Ed Brown Classic Custom to the tune of $4,750.00 It was a beauty to say the least. But fellas, if im going to be honest I have to say that I liked my Specialist better. Both in the hand feel and looks. Call me crazy but, it is what it is. For me anyways :)
And that's not to say I wont have an Ed Brown. I love the Kobra Carry they have and someday plan on having one. But, as for now DW rules the day. I cant get over what a nice pistol this is. Especially so for the money. Just incredible really.

This being such a nice gun I was worried about field stripping her. Just knew I

would make an idiot scratch. The first time was a little tough but, thereafter its

been a piece of cake. I like being confident in what im doing and, Im really enjoying

being in the 1911 world. A lot of history and a lot of good stuff to learn.

Thank you! They were unsupported using the Weaver stance/hołd.
Im gonna start using the isosceles too though.
I reckon my natural hołd would be Weaver.

That's some great shooting Paul! I bounce back and forth between the two stances, I have even used a modified weaver stance. I have yet to figure out which one I shoot better with (range wise).

Thank you very much. I appreciate that. But, I know what you mean.
Ive really just gotten into shooting myself. Ive shot before yes but, only to qualify and hatdly ever just to burn up ammo. Im trying myself to figurę which is better.
I also saw a chart once that had some good pointers on it.
It was a circle with different diagrams. I reckon the main thing for me will be to practice.
And practice some more lol. It sure is fun though.

Is there an outdoor range near you with a plate rack or steel targets set up? If you live out in the sticks and shoot in your back yard, its easy to set a rack up.

No. At least none that I know of. However, I do have some land away from where I live that I could set something up. And I will.
