I still don't believe it's a double-charge, I think we're probably looking at a case-failure here. Look at where it failed, in the groove. While you do have a case split further up, I believe that to be a secondary effect. That is right at the web of the case. It should be strongest at that point.

how many times have you reloaded that case Scott? And, what headstamp is it?

Wow that's terrifying... I hope you are safe and unhurt. Did it damage anything besides the mag? And a pair of under shorts?

First I am glad you are OK.

My nephew's stepson had a number of these 40 S&W's in a 50 round box of reloads he purchased locally here in Houston.

I for one do not like to shoot reloads.

Damn.... That must have scared the $#!t out of you. I hope you didn't get hurt and that your weapon is okay.
