I know that I want a stainless rifle. I just got rid of my Win. Mod. 70 .270 wsm but I knew I was wanting to upgrade. I am looking for great accuracy and I will be shooting bullets mainly from 90-130gr and possibly some 140-150's. Here are some that I have in mind and if anyone else has any better suggestions them feel free to let me know your thoughts. I will be using this rifle for hunting Coyotes, whitetail, and maybe hogs if I ever get that chance.

1. Savage 16 TH XP 270WSM NIKON

2. Remington 700 SPS SS 270 WSM

3. Savage 17780 16FCSS DBM 270 WSM

4. Savage 17966 16FHSS 270WSM HF SS

Doug I have the Remmy 700 SPS in 270 WSM IMHO is great for the Price.

it will work Great on White Tails, and Hogs also IMHO over kill for Yotes.

The Remington, solely by the fact I'm a big fan of the Remington action.

That is what the 90gr bullet is for. Overkill? Yeah probably but I don't save the hides.

I've been looking for a new rifle as well only in 223 and while I have no first hand experience with savage I've read a ton of reviews saying how accurate they are.

A .223 bolt action?

I've thought all along I wanted a .308 but if I went with .223 I could keep my overall caliber count down.

Why 270wsm? Just curious. Do you have to shoot so many times you need the short action?:D

Lol. No. I just like the cartridge. It's a great flat shooting round imo.

I'm still stuck on the .22 Hornet....just sold a Walnut one.....I have friends up in SC that run .270, all they have is Savage, but I would need to call for the exact gun. Oh, and no wood stocks for them. Those guns get used in any weather.

Remmy. But Savage is making some VERRRY nice rifles these days. If price is an object, go Savage.

Douglas, the .270 is a great all around cartridge!!!

I use to hunt with the head game warden for the state of Virginia and all he used was a BAR chambered in .270!!! :)
