sweet. I read your thread on Concealed Crazies about Shooter's and passing on a Wesson.

Hey, you only have a safety on one side

Is that damage on the side of the slide or just a photo issue?

The top shot is oil. The second is me learning how to 'smudge' my pics to hide s/n's:D

Any suggestions for mags that will fit this pistol, and run without problems?

Wilson 47D's or ETM's. Mecgar. The Wilsons have polymer followers, but steel followers won't hurt yours since it's not an alloy frame

This is making me want a 1911. This year was supposed to be a training year. I may have to reassign the finances.

I got some used Wilson's for the super and they run great, I've also heard good things about Metalform and Checkmate.

Need to find some in stock. Everybody seems to be out on the 9mm (except for the $39 ETM's from Wilson:()

Nice - congrats! I know what you mean about the thumb safety - the ambi mine came with wasn't too bad but when I sent it back for some work (sight adjustment, a GI trigger/ thumb safety) the new one was real stiff. Both done by RIA - go figure. I still like a lot though and it just plain runs!

Thanks.

Just got 2 of the SS mags from them. Was advised to go that way since they handle JHP's better than the blue.

The trigger is stiff. About 5-5.25 lbs.. Hopefully it'll loosen up as the round count climbs...

The GI model that you have is a bare bones model at really good price. They have the Tactical models with some refinements added. The newer Tactical II model is an absolute steal of a bargain in the 1911 world. Smoothed up action, fiber optic front sight, two dot rear sight, VZ tactical grips, ambi safety, the works. All of this for a street price of about $625 around my area of the world. CRAZY!!
