Sort of by accident..... A guy had an STI escort in .45 for sale locally. I went to his house and started chatting. Turns out he is a movie producer and bought STI's for props. They have the actors pretend to shoot, he says he always has them blink or squint to add realism. The digital effects simulate the firing, muzzle blast etc.

He says he has the actors fire a real 1911 and then they have to simulate the recoil for the shot (film shoot) and the computer does the rest.

They have never been fired, only pretend fired. Turns out he was asking 800 bucks for a new 22oz. Escort that sells for 1200 bucks most everywhere when you can find them. He mentioned he actually had three............now he has none and I'm broke for the moment.

The little guns are tight with a nice trigger and have exemplary reviews. Looks like a fair amount of attention to detail and fitting.

Off to the froglube and the hair dryer. I've got 1911's on my back....

Upload tbem to an image hosting site, then copy the link and post it here. Or there is a way to upload them here to an album....not sure how.

Upload tbem to an image hosting site, then copy the link and post it here. Or there is a way to upload them here to an album....not sure how.

Under "User CP"....then under "Networking".....bottom of list..."Albums"

Start a new album, name it and upload your pics.

When you want to post a pic in the thread, open the pic. Under it will be two URL's......Copy/Paste the bottom URL to the thread.
You can use the Back Button, top left of screen, to go back and get more pics to post multiples.

Hilarious.

Funny aside, the guy that sold them makes low budget horror films. He is a 1911 guy as we are. One of the pistols had the idiot scratch and the plunger tube was either bent, pin bad or something. I couldn't get it back together last night, I called him and he is calling his friend at STI and they are going to refinish and tune it up.

He says they all jump overboard for movie producers because they want their product in the movies.

Bizarre deal, he is friends with Bill Smith, who fought Clint Eastwood in "Any which way you can" and Fred Williamson, alien killer from Mars Attacks. Very interesting to speak with the guy.

The guns are props for the movie, then he sells them to recoup costs.

I've read it ten times and I don't see any "album" showing on mine, do I not have enough posts or something?

Under "Networking", third item down is Pictures and Albums. That is the place. If you don't have it maybe it is a post count issue. You might need a promotion.:D

**** I think pics stored here might eat space on the Forum server, so might not want to keep alot of pics longterm. Hafta ask about that.
