Had Uncles there....listened to their stories for decades....cannot forget what they told.

My uncle was there as part of the 101st Airborne. When I was a reporter, I got to do a story about him. Here's a more recent article.

I still have an "uncle there." My uncle Jimmy. Alive when he jumped out of the plane and dead when he hit the ground. At his gravesite is my cousin Bob Seymour, a Marine Veteran of Iwo Jima and Guadalcanal.
