Can't seem to post more than one photo at a time, so here goes a few posts of pics.

This one is a damascus Hells Belle from Bill Bagwell.

Most of those pictured are fighting blades, pointy on purpose, but daggers to me conjur F/S type and double edged all the way to the hilt.

He hasn't posted my favorite yet. I got to take it for a spin last year. It's like an extension of your arm it flows so well.

Thanks for the thoughts folks,

Andy, I'll see if I can find that pig sticker you're talking about and post it tonight. In the meantime, the stag handled Bagwell bowie featured with a panther sheath on PC's website is the system I carry regularly.

I no longer carry folders with sd in mind.

Hmmm ... I think there might be a Bowie in my future.

Any suggestions for a good starter knife that won't break the bank?

You can get the U.S. Army Kabar a bit cheaper:

Same knife, just different stampings.

I bought an Army Kabar to use as a utility knife. I used it as a trowel to dig up dandelions in the front yard. Even digging in rocky soil did not damage the edge.
