Both are NIB, box, papers and sock.

I think they are Bali Songs but the model numbers don't sync.

Thanks,
Mike

Balisong is both the generic name of a type of knife (AKA "Butterfly knife") and the name of the company "Balisong USA" which made balisong knives before changing to Pacific Cutlery, and then to Benchmade. It is definitely a balisong. They made numerous balisong models that are no longer current.

I know how. Learned from the Filipinas. They would say "you don't butterfly" (go from girl to girl)

Why am I not surprised.
I own two of two of them. One real sharp one and another not so good quality for practice. Turned out the practice one was not conducive for practice as it didn't pivot smoothly. Wound up practicing more with the live one.

I do not.

There are several utube videos on how to use them. Butterfly knives were popular back in the 1970s. Below is a link to the first of three tutorials:

Good luck. :D

Coincidentally a Sheriff Officer asked today if they were illegal. So, after a short research they are apparently now illegal in N.J. Go figure.

I bought one in Olongopo for about 5 bucks. Brass handles and blade tough enough to drive through a nickel. Wish I still had it

I had done some research for a friend who was asking me, and it's my impression that any knife carried outside the home that could be used to attack (or defend against) another person was illegal in New Jersey.

Also, here is an article from The Truth About Knives: http://www.thetruthaboutknives.com/2013/05/a-reader-asks-whats-the-best-knife-for-new-jersey-edc/

Not completely accurate. For example. Clyde asked for suggestions for an EDC. Most of us recommended the Kershaw Tactical or the Leek. Both legal to be carried in this state by anyone as long at they're not automatic. Many do.
Autos and gravity (Balisong) knives are illegal to possess. Can't have it all, much less carry it. They fall under "prohibitive weapons."
What may get a knife carrier in trouble is if he uses the knife to commit a crime. Then in becomes "possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose." The same can be said for bat, stick, bottle, etc. We've had many instances of weapons (including knives) being used in self defense and in those cases the defender was not charged.
Even prosecutors get it wrong.

Good to know. I'll let my friend know. Thanks.
