Been hunting hard since mid October. Finally had the opportunity on a solid south Alabama white tail. shot about 125 yards +/-. Weapon was a NRA edition Weatherby in 270 Winchester, with a Leupold 3.5 x 14 VX7. Guessing he weighed about 200 pounds. I ought to have the details tomorrow.

Deer came out at sunset, full rut, snorting, pawing and carrying on.

Nice deer man, looks very nummy. However how do you hunt deer without any snow?

Prime Venison. Nothing better. Pretty buck, gorgeous rifle. Nice job Colonel. I sure miss fall in the woods and snow on the mountains.

Went by the processor. Deer weighed 222 pounds and had a spread of 16 inches. Big for this part of the world.

That's is a big deer for these parts.

Good Job, I'll be by to pick up my Backstrap, roast, and sausage in a day or two.
