Hello all,
I am trying to get my vbob broke in, only 150 downrange so far cleaning after every 50. I have used all of the oil that came with it that smells a lot like motor oil. I am waiting on kroil and fb-10 but in the mean time what lube is duty finish safe. also my gun was manufactured 7/14 I wander why there was no test casing in the box. Buy the way this gun does not fool around after shooting my LDA single stack para since 05. Great sub forum here

The oil smells like motor oil, because it probably is.

Go get a quart of Mobil1. I use the "High Mileage" 5W-30 because my DW has a lot of miles on it :D

Mobil1 is SOOOO much better than Rem Oil, I dumped out the Rem Oil and refilled the bottle with Mobil1.

Welcome and congrats on your new V-Bob
According to Keith use the Kroil as a cleaner, not a lube. Use the FP10 as your lube. In the mean time use synthetic motor oil if you have some/have too, I do. Somebody correct me here if needed, but, from what I understand, the test casing you mention being included, or not, in the package, all depends on what state the pistol was shipped to / purchased in.
