Hey Guys/Gals......Took possession of this rifle Saturday morning. It is a .308 HK clone from PTR industries in Aynor, South Carolina. PTR bought the prints to these rifles and manufactures them in SC. They used to buy surplus HK parts, assemble them, and sell them. Now they have the machinery to do actual manufacturing. When PTR moved to SC from Connecticut amidst the new guns laws being implemented they immediately issued the South Carolina Commemorative Rifle. This was supposed to be a 1000 gun limited run, but sales dropped off and they have just reached about 700 Those guns are serial numbered SCXXX. This is is serial numbered SCCR1000 and is the only rifle in the world with the SCCR prefix. I don't know if there will be a range report, this may be an investment rifle. But I will post a video when we are up in SC. Here are some cell pics, one at the gunstore and two at home.

And, to top it off. For you Texas lovin' guys....they now have a limited run of these Texas Edition .308 rifles. Governor Rick Perry was just at their SC facility to see the rifles first hand..

Unfortunately that is what the internet boards are chattering too. Most want the original stock. I don't know what sales are doing, but I am having a top rail welded on my .308 pistol so I'll ask when I talk to them.

Not just you guys, I hate it as well. The AR stock is too small for the frame of the rifle and the tube is in the wrong place.

Ditto on the Texas model. They need a Virtute et Armis model (Mississippi motto - By Valor and Arms)

They already have a PTR MSR, so all they have to do is stamp Virtute et Armis on one side and By Valor and Arms on the other and VOILĄ!

Lonestar grips.

you can swap out the AR style butt stock with a standard style for $30, no big deal.

Hey Joe, let me know when you want me to krylon camo paint that rifle for you. That shiny silver will stand out like pig at a straight bar. :outta:

Hehehehe......I need to find a pic that shows the true color. Silver/green. It's a nice looking rifle. We have a high end gunshop nearby I might take it to. They may want a one of a kind, I may want a high end 1911. BOOM, tradesville.
