So for lunch I went to my favorite gun store and in the case they had a stunning 3" Member Raptor in stainless steel.

The trigger on it was really sweet very crisp with no creep.

True or not - They guy there told me that the Raptor was the on 1911 that Member makes that is from a forging for both the slide and receiver?

I do not need the gun but I have been lusting after a 3" 1911 for a while now and I am thinking of celebrating my new job with a purchase of this gun.

Clyde - Let the beating begin. :kick: :slap:

Check out the offerings from STI berore you do anything rash:) I don't have anything by them in my collection, but I've read so many good things about them. Having said that I used to have 5 Kimbers, the 5" Eclypse was a fantastic shooter. My 5" Raptor shot very well also. Anyhow, I tried to talk you down:) Mike

If you are going to jump, don't do it from the ground floor. Throw all caution out the window and buy a Brown, Novak, Baer or Wilson. If your daughter is getting married, she won't need her college fund and, what the heck, retirement is over rated. Spend the money now....

Did that help, or are you still on the ledge? :)

MajO to late I paid for her education already, but the wedding maybe a different subject - maybe.

As far as retirement I have done that twice already, working on my third.

Cooler heads may prevail, after my wife kicks me in it. :kick:

Stop messing around with our heads, Mike. You are the one about to get run around the flagpole for your daughter's wedding, not us :D

Don't let these clowns turn you into a closet Mimber lover. Either get the STI (i have an Off-Duty and it's 1st class) or wait for the ECO which will be out right after SHOT.

I still think you are playing with us - a weak, limp, short Mimber - Jeez!

Cool Beans...the Raptor has a real cool look about it and it is one of the better KIMBERRRRZ that are offered.

Don't worry, if you get it, you'll have plenty of company to join you in the KIMBERRR corner....

Noel and I get bored from time to time...hehehe.

Plus Clyde will think more highly of you if you get it!!! Yes, he will....

Well the big boss o.k'd a new gun purchase so looks like I am going to move forward with buying something. :D

We just got back from one of the 6 gun stores that are within 5 miles of our house (Just gotta LOVE Texas Ellison ) and we looked at a couple of Colt Defenders one New Agent in 9mm and a standard Defender in 45 ACP.

I wish I could handle the STI Escort.

I do not think I am willing to wait for the DW ECO but I may look at the CCO.

I can not get the gun until next weekend at the earliest so I have a bit of time to decide.

Hey Mike does the CCO have a ramped barrel like my 9mm Guardian?

That is the one thing I do not like about the Colt, aluminum alloy frame but no ramped barrel.

Getting close o talking me into this Mike.

But being a dedicated American consumer and needing instant gratification I am not sure that I can find a CCO locally. I really like to give one of the shops here my business as I am always in there drooling all over their case. I asked them specifically if they could get a CCO and they said that their distributor did not have one. I may take a second run on them on Monday.

By the way Mike I think that I drove through your town when I was covering West Texas I use to drive from Houston to I-20 via Highway 6 and then on to Sweetwater. I must have drove that road some 20 times over a 1 and 1/2 year period of time.

I had to order mine from a place in Montana. It sounds like you did indeed pass through DeLeon, it sure didn't take long did it:) I'm fixing to do some poking around, it only took a little over a week to get mine in. Mike
