I'm a CMP forum member. It has been in process for the last 18 months or so. Still no release date as yet

Yes I would buy one if given the chance

If it even happens we'll be lucky to even get a chance, that, and the price will more than likely be out of range.

I hope they don’t decide to sell them on auction only, that’ll piss me off. I really want one of these but, can’t afford auction prices.

What is the suspected pricing? What was the price last time the CMP had 1911’s for sale? Would it be too far out of line to have a tiered pricing based on condition? I thought there were a hundred thousand or so?

So many questions...

I can answer a few of them.

On the CMP forums, it has been speculated that the pistols will cost between $700 - $1100 each, depending on condition

They have NEVER sold 1911s before, and the last time they sold pistols (M1917 Revolvers), the Gun Control Act had not even been dreamed of.

Part of the reason this has been taking so long is due to the fact that there is a huge difference in state laws when you sell rifles online\mail order vs. selling pistols online/mail order, so they are trying to work all of those issues out.

It’s probably safe to say that California residents are SOL.
