COTEP Holsters

I'm not ready to start back up yet, but thought it might be a good chance to make corrections on design, function or durability. We started the COTEP holster idea about 3 years ago, and I believe I shipped about 120 holsters. For anyone here who've been around during this time, I have a few questions (I have thick skin, honest answers will help make a better product):

Did you buy a holster? If not, why not? (price, design, whatever)

What style? OWB, IWB? Lined?

Do you still use it? If not, why not? (comfort, size, color, whatever)

How has it held up?
How's is the stitching, finish, fit?

If you could redesign it, what changed would you make?

Thanks!

Lane

Lane, I have 2 of your lined OWB holsters, one for my full size and one for my Compact. Both are holding up very well with hardly any wear showing at all. I do not use it everyday as some days I rotate and carry my RIA MS TCM22 with a rail.

The fit and stitching are holding up extremely well. For me I would not have you change a thing design wise. I would see if you can add a railed holster to your line-up as some like me do have railed 1911's now.

Now if I just had that belt I would be all set!!!!! This piece of rope that you sent me until my belt is ready is getting pretty worn!!!!!:D

I have one of your holsters (OWB, black, unlined, compact). Very nice work. I don't wear it much. Mostly, now-a-days, I carry only IWB. So the only changes I'd make to another order from you would be a lined IWB rig. Or for another gun....

Yes, several, all brands and yours!

Both in and out...one lined agian yours

I use my out at the range and my IN for carry everyday.

The one you built me I "save" for BBQ set up..so darn nice I hate to scuff it up.

My Bianchi and the more common brands hold up very well for the heavy abuse, your lane does not get much abuse becasue I use it for "show" I have the logo one wiht airbrushing, and lined you built for me and its exceptional!

I would buy anohter if need be no questions asked. I don't have any suggestions for you because I don't know enough about holsters to be honest. I do know quality when I see it..you have that!

Nice holsters! I really like the ability to snap mine off and on.

I was his test case on a snap on. First one was set a bit too low and on second design (no charge) raised it a bit. Works fine and do not carry 1911 often so use it in the field/hunting.

I got mine from El Paso Saddlery, it rides a bit low too. It is Government length and I need one Commander length now.
