Fun Ruger 10/22
Just finished up 2 stocks for the Ruger , along with some trigger and bolt work.
1st stock is the stock one that I worked over . I took 3 inches off the fore arm then laid it down from tip to receiver . Did some sculpting on the grip and added some length with a palm rest . Fits my hand very nice now . Squared of the butt and put some walnut strips on to make up for the loss of length . Added some spacers in red and white just for some detail . Added a Barska 6 x 24 x 50 for 50 yrd. bench rest shooting . I hope it will do ok , not for real competition just for fun , challenge my self . Getting shaky and blind so if I could get quarter size hits at 50 I 'll feel good. 2nd one is a Boyd's that I just got and decided to paint as I didn't want it to look like everyone else's Boyd's . I may sell it at some time as I want to build a custom from scratch some day . Forgot to add : Painted in Candy Apple red with acetylene smoke in random pattern . Thanks for looking , http://i245.photobucket.com/albums/g...psfmvhuixy.jpg http://i245.photobucket.com/albums/g...psxffe10fz.jpg http://i245.photobucket.com/albums/g...psowhl1ule.jpg |

You sir, are a genius and a master at working with wood and finishing it. I cannot even begin to comprehend how you did what you did, but gosh they're gorgeous.
