Aftermarket back plates..

Any of you glock owners heard of aftermarket back plates affecting an extraction? I have one on my 26 and chalked it up to the extractor. Replaced that and only had one fail to extract. I ordered a new spring loaded bearing because that is what some folks over at GT are saying is causing the issue.

Nope. Never had an issue and I use one stock back plate and one custom. Both are using mostly factor extractors and “guts”. The back plate should not effect it at all I don’t thimk actualy.

Either spring issues or limpo wrists maybe. Not an issue I have ever had with a glock so I might not be the best opinion either.

Backplate will not effect your extractor issue according to our armored. He said the extractor could be damaged or bent or warn so it’s not a back of slide functioning issue at all. Check you springs and slide action and see if that isn’t it if the extractor is looking normal. Also make sure your ejector is proper. That might also be the cause. Easy to bend that little finger if not careful.

You don’t lube up in there do you?

I replaced the extractor as it was worn. Only had one issue so it could have been me. The springs seem fine as I don't think I even have 2k rounds through it.

2k is nothing so run it and see if it’s fixed. Weird that the extractor was bad that fast though. Might have had a bad one?

Late to the party but I’ve never had issues with aftermarket back plates.

Must of been a bad extractor from the start.

also late to the party, but I have a question. I would think that some of these aftermarket plates, especially the ones with drawings or writing on them would pull my eyesight away from the sights and towards the plate. For anyone who has aftermarket plates with a design on them, do you find this to be true?

I have a plain black stock one and a plated silver one for my silver slide to match so I don't have one with any design or wording on it, but yes I am with you a hookem horns logo on the plate would drive me crazy looking at the logo instead of concentrating on the sight line.....but I can't say being I have never had any actual experience with it.

I just have one on my Shield that matches the slide serrations. So no print on it but it’s never bothered me.

Mine Has the snake on it, the one I just got for my 19 has the spartan helmet on it. I inspected the spring loaded bearing and it looked fine. I dunno.. Maybe I was limp wristing that day..
