New Colt M4
I never knew but Colt has come out with an "Expanse" model AR. It has 1/7 twist 16inch heavy barrel, weighs 6.4lbs, great trigger and no dust cover/fwd assist. The parts to remedy this cost saving were $18.00
I was looking at AR556 Ruger, S&W and I saw the Colt next to them. I liked everything about the Colt, especially the trigger. The guy gave me LEO price, $660.00 and it followed me home. Pics to follow. Dumb name, nice rifle. |
Wait so it leaves the factory with no forward assist, but has the empty hole that the forward assist goes into? Usually without a FA or DC, the places to mount them are smooth and you can't put them on with parts.

I think he means a slick side upper.
Cool beans, can't wait to see it! |
Nope, it had the hole for the F.A. with a little plastic plug that said "Colt" pinned in place. Likewise, it had the mount for the dust cover in place. Best thing about being at a gun show, the next booth down had the dust cover and forward assist for 18 bucks, so the rifle cost 678.00

Sounds pretty cool.....and I do kinda like the name, for whatever reason.

Just bought one for $705 at a LGS. :D
It is seriously white box. No sights, one magazine, no forward assist, no ejection port cover. Hell, it even came in a plain brown box. ;) |
Sounds like Colt is selling them as "almost complete" to save the buyer some $ and be competitive in such a saturated marker as the AR15 market is?
|
I agree, but you can make 'em complete for 40 bucks or so and it's a Colt.

I wonder if this was a "move this shit" move because of bankruptcy looming. Someone came up with the great idea of selling high volume of bare bones ARs so if they did go belly up they would not have crates of 6920's sitting in a DC.
Looks like a great deal so it is working. Range report!!!!! |
You know Obama won't bail them out! I'd like to bid on all the stock from the bankruptcy trustee if they do go under.
|
Congrats.

Congrats! Nice pick up.
