That's the way to go.....gonna get an old Springer done up at Okeechobee. Then re-park it and its good for another thirty years.

There is a tool for compressing the stake under the slide without pounding it. Dave probly knows how it works, maybe a better way. I know alot of guys bust...

You can look on the Springfield 1911 forums on ar15.com. The older Springers had the Colt front site, before the lawsuit. I think Midway was selling those staked sights.
