I just said the exact same thing! How did I miss this one? I would add to the list:
A puppy training pad (aka pee pad, wee wee pad etc) makes for an excellent cleaning pad. the underside is plastic and cleaners won't pass through... and topside is a white, soft cotton type material so you can easily see the parts while cleaning.
