Default Disappointing range day

Took the 9mm Rock to the range today. Was NOT a good day. Running Blazer brass and S&B brass FMJ had dozens of FTF. Don't know if it was the mags or the gun, but needless to say the pistol is at the gunsmith.

When it fired it was dead on accurate, but this is not a piece I would consider carrying under any circumstances as of now...

One bright note, the recently acquired P226 ran like a well oiled machine.

was this your first time out with it or did you shoot it when you got it? maybe it was the ammo.

I own one or two S/A pistols including 5 other 1911s. Never had this number of FTFeed in any of them.. It was like shoot one, tap-rack-fire. Tap-rack-fire. Shoot two tap-rack-fire through 100 rounds.. Also had some struggles loading the metalform mags, so I guess there's always a possibility of it being the ammo. Will know more in a few weeks when I hear back from the smith..

Yes I know. But I have a local smith who is very good and extremely reasonably priced. If it's something minor I'd just as soon have him handle it. Big issue, then it's going back.

when you say "tap rack bang", I take it you were doing emergency action drills. Did you look to see if the slide was going into battery, or was it stopping just shy? Sometimes it's best to slow down and look to see what the pistol is doing...if it wasn't going fully into battery, it COULD be the ammo's OAL was more than this pistol likes. If it was stovepiping, it could be extractor tension....but if you didn't have this problem on previous trips, I'd vote for ammo or mags.
