A gun is a tool, no better or no worse than any other tool: an axe, a shovel or anything. A gun is as good or as bad as the man using it. Remember that.

And shepherds we shall be, for Thee, my Lord, for Thee.
Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, that our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command.
So we shall flow a river forth to Thee, and teeming with souls shall it ever be.
In nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritus Sancti.

I heard about this on the radio this morning, 2.25 miles. That's crazy!

Canadian sniper.... I am pretty sure he apologized after taking the shot.

Kidding aside, that is a spectacular shot. I wonder what the specifics of the rifle were.

I would love to see the numbers for the calculations they took to get a hit that far away.

Outstanding shot! I wonder if he was shooting at a group of people or actually targeted that particular individual. And since this is an "unnamed sniper" we probably won't get much more in the way of details.

From the source article:

There's a wee bit of info out there.

He was using a Modified McMillan TAC-50, no particulars on the Mods. Most likely optics and ammo.

http://www.mcmillanfirearms.com/fire...actical-rifle/

Firing from an elevated position Duh... Nothing yet on terrain, engagement or target profiles. It has been verified by stationary camera and "other Data" not live observer, yet. We will have to see how this shakes out. The fact that he put one base let alone in the park at that range is very impressive. I sure hope they get a TOV on this, because that really is an "insanely bitchen shot!"

Anyone know the record distance of a non sniper shot? Maybe just of a range shot ringing steel?

Default This looks to be it...

World Record 4380 yard shot .... Sako TRG M10 base rifle; Finnish Peurala CrMo barrel with .375 CIP. Talk about dialing long distance.
