Default S&W Customer Service rocks!

Now this story maybe hard to believe, then again...considering it's me who's telling it, y'all are prolly shaking your heads already, saying to yourselves, what'd he do now?

So late last year, Nov actually, I bought a S&W M&P Pro and threw it in the safe.

Took it out once in January, shot it, ran a bore snake through it and tossed it back in the safe. Forgive me, but I don't always clean my guns to a highly polished sheen, they get wiped down and bore brushed if only a few rounds went through them.

Last month, I finally got around to installing some Apex parts in it.

Now I swear on my parents graves, I don't recall or remember ever seeing/inspecting the underside of the slide prior to this moment. Remember, I bought it Nov, tossed it in the safe, shot it in Jan. and returned it to the safe, where it sat until late March. When I went to take the slide apart to install the new striker block and striker spring, this is what I saw, machine marks/gouges around the striker block cavity. Those are not normal and nothing in the fire controls could have done that kind of gouging.

So I emailed S&W in late March with pics and after a week or so, they sent me a call tag to return the pistol to them. That was just over 2 weeks ago. Never once did I hear from them until last Friday when I got an email, no hint of any work or denial of warranty, just to say that my pistol was on it's way back to me. Uh oh is what I'm thinking.

Today, I received my pistol back and this is how the underside of the slide looked:

They agreed it was machine marks and replaced the slide, free of charge. Even after I had the gun for 4 months and installing aftermarket parts. Of course I removed the Apex parts prior to returning it to S&W.

Thank you S&W! Now is that not great C/S or what????

It's a bit difficult to believe that whoever assembled that slide didn't see that. Unless it's completely automated.....?...

Good on them for fixing it but you realize a Glock wouldn't have needed to go back in the first place, right?

Yes because you would just throw it away.

Shoot the hell out of it quickly, then inspect it.
