Default Custom Built RIA 1911

Here are some videos of a good friend of mine, Ray Witham Jr. shooting his custom built RIA 1911 in competition. This 1911 was custom built by Arnel in the ippines.

Here is what Ray told me about the 1911.

It was originally one of three built at the custom shop in Marikina 2006. Ivan, Martin and I each got one. It's very similar to the Spartan... built with a RIA frame and slide with all STI parts with some extra checkering (front strap, underside and front of trigger guard, back of slide). I had Arnel put on a S&A mag well... Blended of course. He also did the final hand tuning once we received it in the US.
I had the front sight machined to a .090 width which allows me to see more of the target down range. I also threw some Stryder "Gunner" grips on it. I run a 14lbs recoil spring and 17lbs mainspring.
I've won two IDPA State Championships and just finished 6th overall at the Western States Single Stack Classic earlier this year. Hoping to stick another title this Saturday!

I just wanted to post these to show that RIA 1911's are actually used in competition!!
