I would not. The Taurus rep. precedes it. I've also personally checked out a couple of Taurus models. Didn't like them.

If I'm going to get something in that price range, I'd go with an RIA 1911. I have two of them (well, one as the other is a gift to my niece... if she'd ever receive it).

ive got two revolvers. run just fine. Taurus seems to have upped their game over the past years, so for 410.00.... if nothing else, it'll have a good life as a project gun. If I were in the market, I wouldn't hesitate.

Thanks all, I know the wheel guns actually are decent. My FIL has a couple and are not bad honestly, they shoot well. But the autos scare me a bit. Price is low only reason I am asking. But for that price I can get almost any 9mm too. I love me a !

Gee I'm sorry that you love a soulless inanimate hunk of striker fired plastic. At least 1911 and derivatives have a soul. At best a grock is a tool...kind of like one found in the K-Mart starter sets...semi functional but no pride.

With most bargain barn 1911s it is hit or miss. Both my RIAs are lemons, but I know lots of people have good ones.

With that history in mind, you probably can understand why I would buy Taurus over an RIA. But who knows? Maybe the third time is the charm. But twice burned is my limit.

Very correct, why my hesitation. Now I have two RIA, both are great shooters. Never had an issue with either one. But I have a buddy who has one and it never has been right even after some warranty work. Just not a good gun.
