Thanks for the thoughts folks,

Andy, I'll see if I can find that sticker you're talking about and post it tonight. In the meantime, the stag handled Bagwell bowie featured with a panther sheath on PC's website is the system I carry regularly.

I no longer carry folders with sd in mind.

You can get the U.S. Army Kabar a bit cheaper:

Same knife, just different stampings.

I bought an Army Kabar to use as a utility knife. I used it as a trowel to dig up dandelions in the front yard. Even digging in rocky soil did not damage the edge.
