Default Ruger SR1911

Went and picked one up this morning from a person on another forum. Too good a deal to pass up, really. Anyway, since there is no Ruger sub-forum under the 1911 section, I figured it should go here. No chance to shoot it yet, but initial impressions are good. Slide to frame fit is pretty darned good. There is only a very slight amount of lateral play at the rear of the slide. Lock up is tight. Trigger is not too bad, with the ability to adjust out any creep. The beavertail could use a hair more blending, but is very nice given the price point of the pistol, and ther safety engages nicely. It hasn't been disassembled by me yet, so no review of internal parts or machining.

Larry, it really looks like good shooter! How much was she? I thought you mentioned less then $600 at the "table" (ChatBox).

Looking foward to the range report!

$500, with a box of Hornady Critical Defense, and a new IWB Galco.

I heard that SR1911 is very reliable and a sweet shooter. Congrats, that sounds like a sweet deal.

I handled one the other day at a local shop and frankly, I was impressed. Not DW tight but tight enough and no tool marks or funky blends. Trigger was a little mushy but easily remedied. For the money it looks like a tremendous value.

wow, for that price, I wouldve picked myself up a second one! I think you will be very pleased with it...I am with mine.

If it's like mine...the internals will look pretty good...except for the hammer strut lol (but it can be cleaned up).

Congrats Larry!
