A gun is a tool, no better or no worse than any other tool: an axe, a shovel or anything. A gun is as good or as bad as the man using it. Remember that.

And shepherds we shall be, for Thee, my Lord, for Thee.
Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, that our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command.
So we shall flow a river forth to Thee, and teeming with souls shall it ever be.
In nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritus Sancti.

Thank you,

I nominate Z.ane to be the watchdog on this.

Knowing how the CMP works, I can guarantee that the most valuable ones will go to auction. They will sell for big bucks. Then the rest will be sold in three or four grades. Field grade being the cheapest and most worn.

Either way, I will buy a few if it ever happens!

First:

Quote:
That would include 100,000 highly collectable handguns that predate 1945.
Second:
Quote:
The amendment would authorize the CMP, currently just limited to selling .30-caliber and .22-caliber rifles, to receive and sell any surplus military firearm.

If there's such a thing as double wood I just got it.

100,000 1911 pre dating 1945! Shhhwing!

But also pay attn to second quote. Makes one wonder what makes and models of other surplus guns they have? Oh the mind can wander....

Ca!ebs right though. No different than the Garands. They will be inspected and catalogued, then graded. And most likely yes the unissued ones and I'm betting there are hundreds will go to auction. The shooter grades and well used ones will go for fixed prices. But out of 100,000 there has to be a good amount of pristine to unissued ones there. No different than the unissued collector grade Garands they had.
