Default Ever see a crimp like this???

Just bought some Aguila 124 gr RN bullets and look at the cannelure about half way down the case. Never seen that before on a semi auto cartridge. I've seen it on some 44 mag cases though.

I put a Federal 115 gr RN next to it for reference.

While I didn't measure the OAL, it is noticeably shorter too.

I split a case with a buddy ($10 per 50) and he says he has had no problems with them feeding, so I'm really not worried, just curious.

Thanks in advance.

It's a cannulere (sp)?. It keeps the bullet from seating too deep during production. The oal is due to the bullet profile. The Federal is not as rounded at the nose

I usually see it on .38/.357 but occasionally I will see it on .45 and 9mm. I don't recall it on .40 or .32
