Default Sights for V-BOB

Macular degeneration has made it harder to pick up the front sight on my VBOB so am looking for thoughts on good replacements. It's my carry so want fast acquisition. Have done too much research and have only succeeded in confusing myself with too many options, most of which won't work. Am old school and a bit leery of fiber optics, but know they've come a long way. Search here gave thread several years old and know there are others out there who have gone through this since then, so help appreciated.

The biggest pain in the a** you'll probably ever have to deal with watches you from the mirror every morning.

Good judgment comes from experience, and most of that comes from bad judgment.
