Default Orange tips!

AFJuvat sent me these a couple months ago but with the move I was only able to get to them today. They are sitting on top of 24 grains of Winchester 748. All my research said XM855 is loaded with 27 grains but with the longer tracer compound it looked like it would be a compressed load. So I pulled back to 24 which is the max load for 62 FMJ for that powder for .223.

So now in 5.56 I have green tip and orange tip. I need some 300 Blackout factory brass and I will also have some black tip!

Thanks Mike!

Congrats.

I've got a few "orange tips" in my safe that the US Army graciously gave me as a going away present 20 years ago.

Someday, my little pretties......

Yes sir, we would string hundreds together for a laser effect during night gunnery exercises. Got yelled at on more than one occasion for doing it. It was always worth it.

I've got a few boxes of tracers I put back years ago. Check out the price tag, I've never shot any of them, pretty leery of starting a fire at the range where I shoot.
