Smiling... cuz I already know what your response will be!

I am not sure how i feel about this mike. It was supposed to take 3 weeks, I know i know.... At week four i called. I was told it would be ready by the end of the week. I received no phone call until today. Near the end of week 5. I wend down and realized i had grabbed a deposit book not a check book. I went and got cash. After i go back he pulled it from a shelf just behind the counter. I was pressed for time so i only did a cursory glance at the shop. I wrapped in a micro fiber cloth and put it my case after paying. When i started taking pictures at home i noticed it had been dropped just on the end of the ejection rod sleeve. You can see it faintly in the top photo, that bright spot on the end of the sleeve is not a glare. It is a spot where the finish has been abraded away. That spot is shiny and flat as if it had been dropped.

I am torn now, I was going to take him more work. This was two weeks late, and damaged. I am not sure i want it going back to him.

here is a link to the original photo not on face book.
http://www.pbase.com/dsgrouse/image/143054617/original

you can scroll over to the ejector rod housing and see the tip where it was dropped.

This is the best photo of it i have prior to it being refinished. It had plenty of marks and dings.

the difference being that it now has new blueing over everything but this ding. This ding could have only happened after he blued it to the time i brought it home. As i said, it was in my micro fiber towel (you see the towel in the photo) in my hard shell case, between two foam pieces on the way home. I certainly do not want to get in a pissing match with a business man over this. Even if he did offer to fix it, well i certainly do not want it left there for 5 more weeks, Nor do i think i will entrust him with anything else of mine.

I reckon I'd give him a call and send a photo, just to let him know that YOU noticed it. He may make it right real quick, just so he doesn't get a bad rep. Never know. Good luck

If this is the gun you sent to Mitch, I would call him, or stop in and bring the gun with you. He has an excellent reputation, and is a fair and honest man.

That is a very nice looking Colt Trooper Mr. Grouse. They did an excellent job with the refinish work. I like the new grips too. I would have to shoot it, I just couldn't help myself.
