...me too, I'm looking for ideas.

I would like to put some sights on mine but I'm having a rough time thinking about sinking $$ into a GSG. I really think I'm done. (well, almost)

Default Some Trigger Work

Hey there,

I actually just did some trigger pull work on one of these yesterday for a friend... I did own one but needed to sell it when I needed $$ so the one in the picture is not mine.

When he dropped it off he wanted a lighter trigger and for me to disable the "won't fire without a mag" thing. So I disabled that from the MSH, lightened the trigger from 5.something#'s to 4.5ish#'s but he wanted it lower so I disabled the "firing pin block / series 80-ish" stuff... So now it's remaining safety would be the grip safety and the thumb safety.

I will say this, to me... the GSG/Sig 1911-22's that I have worked on have all had good quality sears/disconnectors/hammers being a recipe for success. The triggers are fairly crisp from the factory but I can't ever leave well enough alone

I took it shooting yesterday to test everything out in live fire and it really shot well. Sorry there were no external mods but this is all I've got on this particular weapon. If this were mine I would put a slightly different profile trigger in it made of a lighter material, but that's just a personal preference.

Talking Stuff I Can't leave alone.

...my GSG included.

Changed out trigger, msh, grip safety, hammer, guide rod, bushing, thumb safety, grips, sear and disconnector.

Trigger job (of course) for 4# pull and made a solid brass guide rod and steel plunger tube. I always questioned the idea of separating the sights from the barrel so I made a compensator (or two ) and fitted the barrel properly to the bushing. Tossed the barrel screw in the frame and improved the accuracy a BUNCH.

A few cosmetic changes, removed the billboards on the slide, flattened the top and duracoated the rascal making it plain and simple.

Grips, I grabbed a take off pair from my RIA .38 super, wiped everything down and shoot the hell out of it.

Some folk like a lighter pistol but I found the weight of the GSG lacking. That is why I used brass and steel tor the parts I made for the front of the piece. Aluminum or another light alloy will work as well if one wants the lighter feel.

I would warn GSG owners that what I have done will absolutely void any warranty and should not be done without serious thought. SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL GUNSMITH!

I work on MY guns because I can but I am NOT a gunsmith. Proceed at your own abilities and risk. PLEASE BE CAREFUL! Have fun, shoot straight.

Photo(s) follow.

Slim
