The silver medal with lanyard attached is a German weapons qualification award called the Schutzenschnur. It's worn as pictured centered, on the right shoulder, hooking up under the right breast lapel. Got to shoot German Lugers, an MG-42 and a few other guns. Pissed off a lot of people in my company as I was awaiting an Article 15 and still got to go and do this, only a select few were chosen. We won't go into why I was in trouble...hehehehe
