Default A Love Story.

I was first introduced to the 1911 in boot camp. It was love at first sight (shot). In 1988 I managed to buy my first handgun. You guessed it, a Colt Series 70 1911 Government model. One day many years ago I noticed the front sight was sheared off. So it languished in my safe. I finally got it replaced and put original wood grips on it. I had purchased it with Pachmayr grips. I have the original grips somewhere, but can't find them so I ordered another set.
Now it's back to original. Plan on taking it to the range tomorrow. I haven't showed it any love in over 20 years. It's time to rekindle the love affair.

Ooh, I would love to own one of those.
I will die with this still in my possession.

I wish I still had the first Colt 1911 I bought, I foolishly sold it in the late 80's. Glad to see you still showing the love for yours.

So hot! Love it when a gun and an owner are meant for each other!

Congrats , she's a beaut.

While it wasn't at boot camp, they already had already transitioned to the Beretta. M9 9mm here in the states, it was at my first duty station in Germany that I fell in love with the 1911. It was a rattle can, but it was accurate, I wish I could've kept that pistol.
