OK smart ass...finally got sometime today to put the felt on the racks. Truth be told, I covered them last weekend but had to peel it all off. Why you ask? Well, when I measured the thickness of the slides and cut the slots, I didn't factor in the thickness of the felt . So after covering them, it was a wee bit of a struggle to get the guns in their slots, that's if they even fit, which a few didn't. So with the help of a dremel, I shaved the slots and also I took a 1/2" of the top to make putting them away a little easier, so voila'...finished racks.

By all means, they ain't perfect, but they're functional!
