Default Hey y'all, new to DW

I'm fairly new around here and to DW, so I figured I'd introduce myself (and cross post from 1911)

I was walking through my LGS a couple months after having a bad bout with a Para (that only got worse after sending it back) so I was in the market for a LW commander sized gun, and I really wanted a bobtail.

So I was looking through a huge showcase of Kimbers, not really noticing anything enticing when I noticed a gun on an orange piece of cardstock. I glanced, saw it was a DW, then was about to turn away after not being a helped when a voice called out to me, "Has anyone helped you yet?"

"Nope, but I wouldn't mind seeing that DW down there real quick."

I had never handled a DW before, but I was immediately struck with how well fit everything was, how clean it was (read no billboard logos), and how light it was. Not to forget it was a bobtail, and I was in love.

I really wasn't in a position to buy a gun at this price tag, but it was used, and I really was sick of having gun issues. I was about to put it away when another clerk walks by and says "Man, you can't not walk out of here without that... That's a heck of a gun and it won't stay long."

Yea, I'm easy to talk into something I really want.

So I put it on layaway.

That didn't last long, I went back in two weeks later and paid it off.

I've been nothing but happy with the gun (except having to send the slide to DW for a new front sight) and enjoy carrying it, shooting it and lovingly cleaning it... Hah.

I bought the gun used, with one checkmate mag and no box for $1250, plus a $20 transfer and no tax, I think I did pretty alright.

The only issues it's had were with my reloads and I don't think the Lee crimp die was snugging the case mouth up all the way, I could feel a slight lip on any rounds that didn't feed all the way.

So happy I found the gun I was looking for after so long, just wish I'd known all along that DW made exactly what I wanted.
