So after 8 years I finally sent my Loaded off to get Cerakoted.

Sent it to Axis Tactical in Ohio, It's a small company that Bob Phillips turned me onto. In talking with Josh who is a full time LEO I could tell that he doesn't let anything out of the shop without it being to his liking.

Slide and controls will be Armour Black and the Frame will be Flat Dark Earth, with a little something extra on the slide like some Ghost Skulls.

Can't wait to get it back!!!!!

Ed, just make sure that whoever is doing it knows what they are doing as it will change the tolerances. A good refinisher will take the time to make sure the gun functions as it should upon return. But I know tat you know that Ed!! Just wanted to put it out there that some of the so called gunsmiths/refinishers out there can coat a firearm but do not know how to get it right after the coating has been applied.

Right on on post above. Had one done gun got a touch tighter but a range trip fixed it. It's a good finish if they know how to it. I like mine a lot.

Good to know as I'm planning on trying to cerakote one of my pistols this summer on my own.

Stupid question time ... Does every spot of metal get coated or just external surfaces of slide and frame?

If they are good they can do it all except the barrel inside of course. I did it all on mine had no issues.

Good question, I believe all visible metal gets cerakoted. I'll find out soon.
